BHG Corporate & Management Profile: Buggsi Hospitality Group is a growing company, which already compensates a strong team of members with many values, and drives red knowledge in the hotel industry. The current organization consists of: BHG Hotels is a Hotel Development and management company. It's principal is Bakulesh "Buggsi" Patel (CEO and President). Buggsi is well known throughout the hospitality industry as a leader and inspiration in his field. Buggsi's notoriety stems from years of hard work and his unique ability to manage and motivate his many employees spanning 3 states with optimum results. Buggsi built his first hotel, the 51-room Super 8 in LaGrande, Oregon, in 1989. He then went on to building and buying other hotels, eventually founding Buggsi Hospitality Group. His active involvement and professional duties include: administration of all officers and staff, as well as all phases of Property Development including: site selection, land-contract negotiation, financing, permitting process plans and specifications; construction, selection of furniture, fixtures and equipment and day-to-day consultation with on-site management. Buggsi has been involved with people in the hotel business, local chamber of commerce, the local Hotel & Motel Restaurant association and the Oregon Lodging Association (OLA). With OLA, Buggsi was president for the 1997-98 term and an unprecedented second that immediately followed. Buggsi is a perennial member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and since 2001 has been a director, he works on various AH & LA assignments including the Lodging Industry Rating Advisory Council, as Chairman,The Council of Inn and Suites and on various Task Forces for them. Patel is also active with various franchise and membership organizations. He is the District II governor for Region 9 for Best Western International. He is Region 9 Chairman on the Choice Hotels International Operators Council. Patel's best-known work has been with the Asian American Hotel Owners Association, (AAHOA) with which he has been active since its inception. He was elected to AAHOA's Chairman in 2000. Raju joined BHG Hotels in November 1998 as the Chief Financial Officer over seeing corporate Accounting and all related facets. He is also involved with the network, hardware and software areas of the group where he led the project for installing VPN, LAN, KRONOS and other related IT projects for the most upto date reporting and cost controls. Raju holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Physiology and a Post Graduate diploma and Master of Science in Biochemical Engineering. He has been a student member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants from the Hospitality Financial & Technical Professionals (HFTP), CHTP and CHAE. Doug Frasco started with us as a front desk manager at one of our hotels. Over the past years Doug has come up through the ranks and earned the position of BHG Hotel's Regional Manager.
